Barou - In Fulani culture, both men and women are expected to exhibit elegance. At the annual festival celebrating the return of herds after transhumance, young shepherds have a chance to showcase their elegance and skills, including posture, attire, gait, and the ability to dance and handle their shepherd's crook. The song "Barou" is inspired by this festival and represents an invitation for young shepherds to take pride in their accomplishments and pursue glory, recognizing that the success of their herds is their primary means of achieving financial security and upward mobility.
Bonjo is back! The deepest of Nyabinghi and Afro drums with the Don Adrian Sherwood on the magic desk. Love the Ghanaian flavours this time around, welcome back Master B! Ex-Friendly
Sublime and self confident.
A timeless classic.
Powerful and sometimes strident Malian vocal backed by one acoustic guitar.
That's all that's needed to continue the beauty of a culture.
The recording quality is great, there's texture in the vocal and guitar, and space in between. tonypi
